Say no to voter disenfranchisement in Nebraska

Issues

LB1065, LB1115, and LR1CA would restrict Nebraskans’ right to vote by mandating they have a current photo ID and revoking representation for many hardworking, taxpaying Nebraskans.

LR1CA is state constitutional amendment that would restrict Nebraskans’ right to vote by mandating they have a current photo ID. This has been shown in other states to prevent people with low incomes, people of color, older adults, and others from exercising their right to vote.

LB1115 would exclude counting many hard-working, tax-paying Nebraskans when determining boundaries for voting districts. This would result in misrepresentative districts that don’t reflect the true population of residents in Nebraska.

LB1065’s purported intent is to update poll site equipment, but it’s just another attempt to impose voter ID by requiring that a digital image of each voter be part of their voter listing. It’s impractical, expensive, and will disenfranchise voters.

As your state senator, I will fight to ensure access to the ballot for all voters and stand against any efforts toward voter suppression. Please contact your senator and urge them to oppose these bills. We should not be putting up more barriers to the ballot.
