Thank you, workers of Nebraska.

Issues
On this Labor Day weekend, we thank the American workers and labor activists who build, teach, transport, maintain, and protect this country every day. We not only honor and salute you today, we must also renew our commitment to improving the lives of workers and their families. There is so much we can do to bolster the economic security and well-being of workers in Nebraska and in the U.S., two-thirds of whom are women and half of whom are women of color. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, only 13% of full-time workers in the US have access to paid family leave, and one in four women must return to work within two weeks of having a child. We must always have at front of mind the people who build this country, who work every day to provide the services we rely on, who educate our children, who keep our economy moving forward. As a leader in Nebraska, I will always keep my commitment to supporting the economic security and well-being of all workers in our great state.
