I’m proud to have received the endorsement of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen! I thank them for their encouragement and support of my campaign. Today I’m launching my end of the year fundraising drive, #RunMegRun. I’m setting a goal to receive contributions from 1,000 individual donors before the end of the year, which is my first filing deadline as a candidate. It’s a really big deadline for me and I want you to be a part of it by being counted as a contributor in my first financial report.

On National Coming Out Day, I want to wish good luck and lots of courage to anyone who is coming out to their family or friends today. If you are someone who has taken the brave leap to openly identify as someone outside the heterosexual norm, you have so much to be proud of.

To end the dream of education, enterprise, and prosperity for DACA youth who have never known any other country as home is cruel, unfair, and racist.

As a leader in Nebraska, I will always keep my commitment to supporting the economic security and well-being of all workers in our great state.

"The more political work I did as an entrepreneur, the more comfortable I felt taking my place at the table in politics. I listen to the legislature every day. I can watch it online, I’ve done it for years. And I can see people on the floor saying, 'Well, it’s property taxes, it’s income taxes, and that’s why people don’t want to move here.' And at the same time, they’re voting for fewer protections for LGBT people, voting for fewer services for DACA recipients, they aren’t passing things like equal pay for women, paid family leave, Medicaid expansion — things that much more affect women, that affect people of color."
